Christmas Science Lesson And The Gift Of CuriosityDo you know how lucky you are to be a science teacher? Imagine you woke up tomorrow morning and you suddenly had become an English teacher and had to come up with something for your students to do. Your mind is probably not exploding with exciting things to do. Ok, calm down, you’re a science teacher again. Remember what you dreamed of doing when you first decided to become a science teacher? Was it to hand out worksheets? Give long lectures? That doesn’t even deserve an answer. Science teachers get to use human curiosity to our advantage, and it can take us anywhere we want to go. Here’s a fun demonstration idea: gift-wrap a box as beautifully as you can with ribbons and bows. Then start class one day by putting the package in front of your classroom and try to teach a normal lesson while attempting to ignore it. Your students will go nuts wondering who it’s for and what’s in it. It’s mean, but fun! Another thrilling unique that only you and no other person in your building can do is the Christmas science lesson, included on our cd-rom, and available as a free download (3.0 MB). The science Christmas lesson will be a special event that will fascinate your students the day it's done, and will become something they will never forget that you did. How The Yellow Sheet You With The Christmas Science LessonIt’s a given that the more prepared you are, the better off everyone will be in your classroom. And prepared is one thing you have to be when you decide to do the Christmas science lesson. If you aren’t doing enough planning and preparation prior to each lesson and you often feel overwhelmed, check out our Yellow Sheet. One definition of a successful person is someone who understands what needs to be done first, and they do it. They’re busy like the rest of us, but their priorities are where they should be. We think the Yellow Sheet will help you get organized so that your more important things done first. Being Too Busy For A Christmas Science LessonDo you remember the magician from Frosty The Snowman? He was so “busy, busy, busy!”. That describes Americans today- always in a hurry trying to accomplish more than we have time for. But things done in a hurry are seldom done well, and that includes what happens in our classrooms as well. A special treat we've included on our cd-rom is the Christmas science lesson. We'd be absolutely honored if you took a day leading up to your Christmas break and chose to use it in your classroom. This is not a lesson you'll want to hurry through, nor is it something you'll be able to throw together at the last minute. Other Places
